Shotts Bon Accord vs Johnstone Burgh: Match Preview

All the info ahead of tomorrow's clash against Shotts Bon Accord.

The Match:
The match takes place at Hannah Park, Shotts with kick off at 13:30. Tomorrow's match at Hannah Park is our second furthest away game in the league this season, with almost 27 miles separating the two teams.

Weather:
At the time of writing, Johnstone Burgh have received no indication from Shotts Bon Accord that tomorrow's game is in doubt. However, with freezing temperatures forecast overnight, and snow/rain forecast for tomorrow, please keep an eye on our website, our social media channels, and Shotts' social media channels. Unless stated otherwise, the game will be ON.

Previous Meeting:
Johnstone Burgh 2-3 Shotts Bon Accord. Last time we met, back in August, we saw Burgh on the wrong end of a five-goal thriller at Keanie Park. with all goals coming in the first 30 minutes. Burgh were 1-0 down in the second minute, to which The Burgh responded quickly through a Kieran Brophy volley. However, we were 3-1 down after 17 minutes. On the half hour mark, Brophy volleyed in again to bring Burgh back into the game. The following 60 minutes saw Burgh do everything but get the equaliser we were so desperately pushing for, forcing the visiting keeper into some good saves and we had a shot cleared off the line in injury time.

Form:
Burgh go into the game in fine form, having won our last three and winning nine of our last 10 in all competitions. We currently sit 3rd in the league, three points off top with three games in hand. If second-place Drumchapel United fail to beat Kilwinning Rangers tonight, we know that a win tomorrow will see us end 2023 sitting top of the league on goal difference, as leaders Petershill aren't in action until 05 January 2024.

Our Opponents:
Shotts also come into this game in good form. They have seven wins in their last nine in all competitions and, like The Burgh, have won their last three. Shotts sit 7th in the league, just two points behind The Burgh. They'll be eager to do the double over us, and a win will see them leapfrog us, and they could end 2023 3rd in the league, if other results go their way.
