Match Preview: St Roch's vs Johnstone Burgh

All the info ahead of Saturday's WOSFL First Division clash against St Roch's.

The Match:
On Saturday, we travel to the East End of Glasgow to take on St Roch's. The match takes place at James McGrory Park and kicks off at 14:00.

Weather:
At the time of writing, Saturday looks dry but we understand that some fans may have doubts regarding the pitch following the weather we've had this week. As always, unless stated otherwise, the game is ON. We will keep fans posted on Facebook, X and WhatsApp should this change.

Form:
We're suffering a dip in form of late, with our 1-1 draw at the weekend against Rutherglen Glencairn rescuing our only point from our last three matches and leaves us sitting 9th. However, promotion is still well in our hands with the number of games we have remaining. Prior to this run of three games without a win, we'd had one defeat in our last seven; a run that included beating this weekend's opponents 2-1.

Our Opponents:
Our hosts this weekend are 11th in the league, level on points with The Burgh, below us on goal difference, having played three games more. Since 10 February, when they lost to bottom side Neilston, St Roch's have won their last four without conceding a goal. This run has seen them pull away from the relegation battle they found themselves in after four league games without a win.

Previous Meeting:
Johnstone Burgh 2-1 St Roch's. Burgh ran out 2-1 winners in our final match before Christmas. Although a home match, the tie was played at a neutral venue (Renfrew's New Western Park). Dale Simeon opened the scoring, before Kieran Daw equalised for the visitors. Blair Rossiter's penalty secured the three points for The Burgh.

Getting There:
By Train: The nearest train station is Barnhill, which is served by trains from Glasgow Queen Street. The walk from the station will take more than half an hour.
By Car: James McGrory Park is about a 40 minute drive from Johnstone. Post code is G21 2DT. If parking on the street, please be mindful of local residents and take care not to obstruct any driveways or access to properties.
Supporters Bus: We are running a supporters bus to the game on Saturday, departing Keanie Park at 12:45. There's still seats remaining. To book contact Vic Young on 07826 850856 or Robert Kerrigan on 07833 934025. The Burgh Bar at Keanie Park will be open from midday, serving drinks until the coach departs.

Officials:
The referee this weekend will be Robert Thomson. Mr Thomson has officiated The Burgh already this season, overseeing our 2-1 win at Blantyre, and our 3-0 home win against Dundee North End in the cup. He was also the referee when St Roch's lost to Neilston in February. We have not been appointed assistant referees this weekend.

Admission:
Adults £8. Concessions £4. U16's Free.
