Match Preview: Drumchapel United vs Johnstone Burgh

All the info ahead of Saturday's WOSFL First Division clash against Drumchapel United.

The Match:
On Saturday, we travel to Donald Dewar Centre to take on title favourites Drumchapel United. The match kicks off at 14:00.

Weather:
The forecast looks dry but cold. The Donald Dewar Centre has an artificial pitch so there'll be no doubt surrounding the playing surface. Although, at the time of writing, the forecast is dry for Saturday, there is no shelter from the elements at Donald Dewar Centre, so be prepared in case the forecast gets it wrong.

Form:
We suffered our first league defeat in seven matches last Saturday against Kilbirnie, and have failed to win in 90 minutes in our last four, although we did win two of those on penalties. Prior to last Saturday's defeat, we were unbeaten in six in all competitions. In the league, we currently sit 9th, 13 points behind leaders Petershill. However, we do have nine games in hand on them and, along with Shotts Bon Accord, have played fewer games than every other team in our division, so we're still well in the battle for promotion.

Our Opponents:
The Drum come into this game sitting 4th, with 33 points from 18 matches. They are 4 points clear of us, having played 3 games more and are 9 points off the top, with six games in hand. Like us, they didn't play at the weekend. They'll come into Saturday's game on the back of a 1-0 win at Whitletts Victoria last Saturday, and have won three of their last five, including beating Neilston 3-0 in the Strathclyde Demolition Cup Final. Their last three wins have all seen them keep a clean sheet.

Previous Meeting:
Johnstone Burgh 2-1 Drumchapel United. The teams last met back in August, in our first home game of the season. In a dominant display, Kieran Brophy put us ahead midway through the first half, then Ross McKenzie sealed the win with five minutes to play, before a 90th minute consolation made us sweat through added time but we held on to take an important 3 points.

Getting There:
By Train: The nearest train station is Drumchapel, which is served by trains from Glasgow Central. The station is about an eight minute walk to Donald Dewar Centre.
By Car: Donald Dewar Centre is approximately a 25 minute drive from Johnstone. Post Code is G15 8SX. As Donald Dewar Centre is a public leisure centre, there's extremely limited parking in the car park on matchdays, but there will be three overflow car parks available (see map below). If parking on the street, please be mindful of local residents and take care not to obstruct any driveways or access to properties.
Supporters Bus: We are running a supporters bus to the game on Saturday, departing Keanie Park at 13:00. There's still seats remaining. To book contact Vic Young on 07826 850856 or Robert Kerrigan on 07833 934025. The Burgh Bar at Keanie Park will be open from midday, serving drinks until the coach departs.

Officials:
The referee this weekend will be Josh Hay, who refereed our 3-2 defeat at home to Shotts Bon Accord earlier in the season. We have not been appointed assistant referees this weekend.
