Match Preview: Blantyre Victoria vs Johnstone Burgh

All the info ahead of Saturday's WOSFL First Division clash against Blantyre Victoria.

The Match:
The match takes place at KG Stadium, Blantyre with kick off at 13:30.

Weather:
At the time of writing, we have received no indication from our hosts that the game is in doubt. The forecast this weekend is to be cloudy, and cold, with temperatures around 6°C for kick off. However, freezing temperatures are forecast for Thursday night into Friday so, as always, please keep an eye on our website and our social media channels. Unless stated otherwise, the game will be ON.

Previous Meeting:
Johnstone Burgh 1-0 Blantyre Victoria. The teams last met in August at Keanie Park, where Ally Small's second half goal was enough to give Burgh the three points in a 1-0 victory.

Form:
Burgh go into the game in fine form, having won our last three and winning nine of our last 10 in all competitions. We currently sit 5th in the league, six points off top with four games in hand. However, due to frozen pitches, our last two games have been postponed and we haven't been in action since 23 December 2023, when we beat St Roch's 2-1.

Our Opponents:
Blantyre come into this game in mixed form. After going on a good run and fighting at the top end of the table, their form has dropped in recent matches, with two wins, one draw and three defeats in their last six in all competitions.. They did, however, get back to winning ways in their last match, beating Neilston 1-0 at Brig O' Lee Stadium on Saturday which saw them jump up to 2nd in the league, three points ahead of The Burgh, having played four games more than us.
