Johnstone Burgh 6-0 Glenvale

Burgh Fire Six Past Glenvale To Claim Third Place

In the third/fourth place playoff of The John Grant Tournament, Burgh found their form after a disappointing semi final the previous day.

Graham Dorrans whipped in a free kick, which was turned into the net by a Glenvale defender in his attempt to prevent Ross McKenzie getting on the end of it.

Hamish McKinlay thought he'd doubled the lead when he slotted the ball through the keeper's legs, only for the goal to be disallowed for offside. Bryan Wharton did add a second as he headed in before Jojo Gillespie to give the Burgh a 3-0 lead.

Half time: 3-0

The home side, not content with just three, kept pushing for more and their fourth came with about 20 minutes to play through substitue Dean Scott who fired home from just outside the box, A fifth was added soon after through Hamish McKinlay and, another substitute, Stuart McCann finished the scoring in the 89th minute as he started and finished a lovely, flowing passage of football by curling in an effort from the edge of the D.

Full time: 6-0
